World Class Espresso in a Stairwell.  That’s our motto, and for good reason.  Batdorf and Bronson roasted coffees are on the menu, each and every day.  Thank goodness.You can soak up the leaded java with H&H bagels and pastries from Baked in Brooklyn.  Otherwise it’d be tweeker-ville around here.  Of course, we like it that way.

Coffee Box is about quality of product and service, every single time.  We proudly use the La Marzocca Linea 2-Group with a double boiler, one of the top extractors in the world.  Of course we dose and tamp with the La Marzocca Swift Grinder – the results are so consistent they’re addictive.  All of the testing we do is to adjust the grind density for changes of humidity throughout the day.  Yeah…that’s why there’s so much testing around here.  But seriously – if it’s not right we won’t serve it to you.  And, if for some reason you don’t like it you’ve got a full refund coming.  Welcome to Coffee Box, where you get to be the customer again. 

We invented the Retreat Cooler.  It’s mint tea with honey, iced, combine with the juice of a fresh-squeezed lemon and the juice of a fresh-squeezed orange (which is available anytime you’d like).  The mix was so right it made the menu and has never left.  Winter is almost here – let’s try the Retreat Hotter.…
